1. A thing of beauty is a joy foreverIts loveliness increases, it will never
Pass into nothingness; but will keep
A bower quiet for us, and a sleep
Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing.
Explanation
Poet ,in this poem, says that a thing of beauty remains forever and it never lasts. Whenever we see a beautiful thing, it gives us joy.
This joy and pleasure becomes permanent and it's loveliness increases with the passage of time and never finishes. That beautiful thing becomes like a shadow of trees which provides relief for travelers. Whenever we think about that beautiful thing, it refreshes our mind and provide quietness. It also gives us sleep which is full of dreams. Thus we can live healthy and peacefully with the memories of that beautiful thing.

Poet यहां सुन्दर चीजों का बर्णन करते हुये कहता है कि सुंदरता की चीज सदा के लिए आनंद बन जाता है और कभी खत्म नहीं होता है सुन्दर चीज का आनंद सदा बना रहता है । जब कभी हम उस चीज के बारे में सोचते है तो उसकी सुंदरता और बढ़ती जाती है । यह सुंदरता की चीज एक छायादार स्थान की तरह है जो हमारे नीरस जीवन को राहत प्रदान करती है ,सपनों से भरी हुई नींद प्रदान करती है, स्वस्थ और शांति प्रदान करती है ।

A flowery band to bind us to the earth,
Spite of despondence, of the inhuman dearth
Of noble natures, of the gloomy days,
Of all the unhealthy and o'er-darkened ways
Made for our searching: yes, in spite of all,
Some shape of beauty moves away the pall
From our dark spirits.

इस संसार में अच्छे लोगों की भारी कमी है । हर व्यक्ति लालच और स्वार्थ से भरा हुआ है । इस संसार मे लगातार रहस्यमयी घटनाएं भी घटती रहती है । जिससे हमारा जीवन उदासी और निराशा से भर जाता है। इन सब निराशाओं के बाबजूद हम इस जीवन और इस संसार से प्रेम करते हैं तथा इस धरती से हम मजबूती से जुड़े महसूस करते हैं। हम कभी भी इस संसार को छोड़ कर जाना नही चाहते हैं। यही सुंदरता की चीजें हमारे जीवन से निराशा रूपी कफ़न को हटाने का काम करती है।

Trees, old and young, sprouting a shady boon
For simple sheep: and such are daffodils
With the green world they live in; and clear rills
That for themselves a cooling covert make
Gainst the hot season: the mid forest brake.
Rich with a sprinkling of fair musk-rose blooms:

Daffodils bloom in green forest are also a thing of beauty. Clear little rivers make a shady place to protect themselves against hot season. Small river which flows through mid forest has some musk roses blooming.
Explanation in Hindi:
Poet यहाँ हमें सुंदर चीजों की सूची दे रहा रहा है । उसके अनुसार सूर्य, चाँद, छोटे बड़े पेड़ जो भोली भाली भेड़ो( यहाँ भेड़े प्रतीकात्मक रूप से बताई गई है, भेड़ो से यहाँ अभिप्राय भले लोगों से है) के लिए छायादार जगह बनाते है, daffodils जो अपने हरे भरे संसार मे खिलते है, छोटी छोटी जल धाराएं जो अपने दोनों किनारों पर पौधों के रूप में गर्मी से बचने के लिए छाया का निर्माण करती हैं तथा छोटी नदी जिसके किनारे कही कही सफ़ेद गुलाब खिले रहते है । कवि के अनुसार ये सब चीजें सुंदरता की चीजें है ।

Explanation | A Thing of Beauty
We have also heard lovely tales of magnificent heavenly judgement passed on the noble people in heaven. We have imagined and heard that God will give them rewards for their good deeds. We imagine that an endless fountain of heavenly drink is constantly flowing heaven's end. This is an imagery presented here which makes this poem more beautiful.Being prevailed all these beautiful things in this world, we love our life despite of all despair and gloom .

हमने जितनी भी कहानियां पढ़ी या सुनी है , उनके अनुसार महान और भले लोगो के प्रति ईशवर का अंतिम निर्णय भी उतना ही महान होगा। उन्हें ईश्वर के द्वारा उनके अच्छे कार्यों के लिए उचित इनाम दिया जाएगा। अर्थात उन्हें स्वर्ग की प्राप्ति होगी। स्वर्ग के उस छोर से निरंतर अमृत की धारा हम तक प्रवाहित होती रहती है।
