Education has remained a hot contested issue . People express different views regarding education and even policy makers also throw a number of experiments in the air. Therefore, education has become a magician's bag out of which anything can come out.
Present state of Education lacks almost everything which should be there to cope with the necessities of social, economic, moral and ethical aspects. Whole education system seems rotten from pillar to post.
In spite of numberless efforts, reality remained the same more or less. The termite of copying has eaten up the very basic of education and lack of interest among students has made the teaching learning process merely a wastage of time.
Different programmes to universalise education have no doubt increased the enrollment in schools, yet quality aspect lacks behind. More efforts still needed to improve the quality of education being provided in the country.
No detention policy also played a major role to bring the education system to such a miserable level. Students have no fear or worry to their exams and they remain careless about their studies as most of them care only to get through the exams, that's all. They don't know the true meaning and purpose of education and passing exams is a great achievement for them whichever ways or means they pass, doesn't matter to them. One more defect of education is that teachers lay much stress on mugging up facts and no attention is paid to inculcate the habit of understanding and creative writing. Consequently, students are unake to form a three word sentence after ten - twelve years of formal education. This applies to each and every subject as they don't know the basics of the subject.
Policy makers introduce a new experiment time and again and beat the bush after snake passes . I wonder if the government don't know the reality or they only pretend to be ignorant. All exercises are useless as long as primary education doesn't improve. Actually we are sprinkling water over the leaves of a plant and not watering it's roots. Happening all this malpractice, nobody can expect the desired fruit.
Instead of result bar, teachers should make to work properly and sincerely throughout the year as work brings result , not results bring work.

Vocational Education
A sincere effort to introduce vocational education should be evolved, providing more opportunities to do practical work. Theory must be avoided in vocational education as much as possible and emphasize should be given to practical work. There should be 80 percent practical learning and only 20 percent theory should be taught in vocational education. It should be a separate wing like Industrial Training Institute , not just an additional subject.
