POEM 1 A Photograph Comprehension and. Exams. Questions
Q.4 How is the cyclic movement of rain brought out in the poem? Compare it with what you have learnt in science.
Ans.
In the poem, the poet says that rain originates out of land and the sea. She rises unseen and untouched to the sky. She is changed there completely into clouds and falls back to land and the sea in the form of water. It washes the dry land and the plants and helps seeds to grow.
We also learn in science that water vapours are formed on the land and surface of the sea. They rise from there into the sky where clouds are formed. Then it rains on land. The water returns to the sea.
Q 5.
What does the rain do to the earth when it fails down on the earth?
Ans:
The rain on falling down to the earth finishes droughts and dust layers from the atmosphere of the earth. She washes every thing and every atom on earth. She gives life to the seeds. They grow into plants. Without the rain, they would remain seeds, hidden and unseen underground. Rain gives life to them. She purifies and beautifies everything on the earth. In short, the rain gives life to the earth, its own origin.
Q 6
What is the intention of the poet in the poem?
Ans. :
The poet here seems to say that the rain has a voice of its own. She is as soft and soothing as the music. Just as music refreshes everybody, so the rain refreshes everything on the earth. She is life giving, purifying and beautifying.
